Hi my name is Jo Stow and I’m a trainer for Sussex Bootcamps.
I’ve worked in the fitness industry since graduating from The University of Birmingham in 2007 where I studied Sport and Exercise Science. After graduation, I began working in gyms in East Grinstead, teaching studio class and training clients.
My interest in sports and fitness started at an early age, with my main interest varying through the years. Throughout school and university I was a competitive netball and hockey player, representing and captaining the school and local club teams. Currently, I am focusing on long distance running and cycling, and have recently competed in the London to Brighton Bike Ride and the Bristol Half Marathon in 2010.
Being active and healthy has always been a major part of my life, and I am very fortunate to be able to combine these into a job! I was lucky enough to study under some of the best lecturers in their fields at The University of Birmingham, and I constantly further my knowledge with courses and articles. This enables me to keep up-to-date with recent developments and theories in the health and fitness world, and provide my clients with the latest knowledge and techniques.
I’m thoroughly enjoying training at Sussex Bootcamps and seeing what a massive impact teamwork plays to the group and to the individuals, and hearing the way that Bootcamp has transformed clients’ lives for the better. I hope and trust that all clients continue to enjoy and see the improvements that Bootcamps will and can play on their lives!
When I’m not working, I spend time training myself and training with friends for both motivation and to catch up on gossip! In the last few years I have taken up snowboarding as my latest challenge, and can’t wait to get back on the slopes! In the future I am looking to enter my first marathon and cycle London to Paris!
